Open Positions

There are a total of four positions open on Council for the 2017 elections:

  • three positions are three-year terms, as they fill positions for Council members whose terms have ended
  • one position is a one-year term to fill a vacancy due to a Council member resignation

The candidates who receive the first, second and third highest number of votes will be elected to the three, three-year terms. The candidate who receives the fourth highest number of votes will be elected to the one, one-year term.

Nominations are being accepted starting Tuesday, April 18, 2017 until Monday, May 8, 2017 at 4 p.m. During this time interested members will complete the nomination package and return it to the College.

Discovery Process

The Discovery Process will take place between Tuesday, May 9, 2017 and Friday, June 2, 2017. Providing nominees have met the requirements in the nomination package, they will then complete the steps required to be a confirmed candidate as outlined in the College’s Governance Policy #101.

Candidate Confirmations

Candidates will be confirmed and then notified June 12-13, 2017.

The biography and photo of each confirmed candidate will be distributed to the membership in the College’s newsletter and posted on the College’s website by June 15, 2017.

Online elections will take place between 12 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 and 12 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2017. Voting this year will only be available online and will be fully managed by a third-party provider, Simply Voting. Simply Voting will email all voting information to all regulated members who are eligible to vote. They will also email reminders periodically throughout the vote to those who have not voted. The College will receive no information about voters.

Results will be ratified by Council and Candidates will be informed of the results before they are shared with the membership at large, as per College policies. Results will be posted to the College website by September 1, 2017.
