New Registration

Want to apply for registration with the College?

If you are interested in obtaining registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics, please follow the steps below:

  1. In order to apply for registration with the College you must have graduated from an approved educational program.
  2. Once you have graduated from an approved program, you must apply for and successfully complete all components of the Provincial Registration Examination within one year of your graduation date.
  3. After you have successfully completed the Provincial Registration Examination, you are eligible to apply for registration to practice by completing all components of the New Practitioner Registration Form in full and submitting all necessary accompanying documents and payment.

NOTE THAT YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL OF THE ABOVE STEPS WITHIN ONE YEAR OF YOUR GRADUATION DATE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER WITH THE COLLEGE.

Some important tips/reminders:

  • Registration must be renewed annually between October 1 and December 31.
  • If you register between January 1 and September 30, you will be required to renew your registration between October 1 and December 31 and pay all associated renewal fees.
  • If you let your registration lapse for a year or more, there are significant implications to achieve reinstatment.
  • All new applicants must have two character references. Each referee must complete a Character Reputation and Reference Form. As per the Character Reference Policy, the forms must be submitted to the College by the individual providing the reference in a sealed envelope separate from the application.
