Regulated Health Profession

Paramedicine is a regulated health profession under the Health Disciplines Act of Alberta. What does that mean? It means that, through registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics, practitioners in Alberta are held to the highest standard of practice and work with other regulated health professionals to provide expert, quality care to Albertans across the province.

Our Promise

As a self-regulatory body, the College ensures practice standards and ongoing competency for all practitioners through registration and renewal. This self-governance model empowers practitioners to bolster their profession by maintaining and enhancing the quality, safety and integrity of their work. This means that registered paramedics give their best-no matter what environment they work in.
