Your practice permit has been cancelled. This means that you are no longer eligible to practice the profession or use the protected titles of EMR, PCP (EMT), and ACP (EMT-P).

HOW DO I RETURN TO PRACTICE?

To return your practice permit to an active status, you need to reinstate.  Reinstatement is achieved by:

  • Submitting a complete application;
  • Having the required Professional Liability Insurance;
  • Completing the criminal background check as directed by the College;
  • Paying the appropriate fees; and
  • Having your application approved.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO REINSTATE MY PRACTICE PERMIT?

You are eligible for reinstatement if:

  1. You meet the elements required to hold an active practice permit:
    • Being current in practice of the profession.
    • Being able and fit to practice the profession.
    • Being of good character and reputation.
    • Completion of any mandatory continuing competence.
    • You address any outstanding regulatory matters (if applicable).

Currency in practice

The currency of your practice will determine reinstatement requirements. Please review the following circumstances to determine which requirements apply to you.

Less than 12 months  If the College determines that it has been less than twelve months since you entered a lapsed/inactive status, you will be required (at minimum) to meet all continuing competence requirements and pay required fees.
12 to 24 months If the College determines that it has been more than twelve months but less than twenty-four months since you entered a lapsed/inactive status, you will be required (at minimum) to provide evidence that you successfully completed an approved refresher program and provincial examination within the previous 12 months for the discipline level sought and meet all other College requirements to obtain full registration. Provisional registration is an option for applicants awaiting the provincial examination.
More than 24 months If the College determines that it has been more than twenty-four months since you entered a lapsed/inactive status, you will be required to provide evidence that you successfully completed an approved program and provincial examination within the previous 12 months for the discipline level sought and meet all other College requirements to obtain full registration. Provisional registration is an option for applicants awaiting the provincial examination.

APPLY FOR REINSTATEMENT

To apply for registration reinstatement, you must submit a new and complete reinstatement application including supporting documentation and pay the required fees.
