The following information is provided to you to familiarize you with the practical exam details.

  • The examination takes place at the King’s University College (9125 – 50 Street, Edmonton, Alberta). Use the North Academic Building West Entrance. Note: Location subject to change. See your confirmation email and check the website prior to exam.
  • You must sign in at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. Note: CANDIDATES WHO ARRIVE LATER THAN 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO START TIME MAY NOT BE ADMITTED.
  • Once you have signed in, you will be sequestered. The College attempts to sequester candidates for a minimum amount of time; however, you should expect to be in the testing facility for 3 to 4 hours. Please consider this when making travel arrangements.
  • You will need to bring government-issued picture ID (driver’s licence or passport) OR two of the following: SIN card, AHCIP card, birth certificate or school identification.
  • All communication devices and electronics that can send or receive a signal are not permitted.
  • Wrists must be free from all devices including, but not limited to, watches, bracelets, Fitbits, etc.
  • Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited.
  • EMR practical exams consist of one scenario (medical OR trauma), randomly selected.
  • EMT and EMT-P practical exams consist of two scenarios (one medical AND one trauma).
  • Once you have completed your scenario(s), you will be escorted to final sequester until you are released. Once released, you must leave the facility and cannot return.
  • Results will be available on your profile through the navigation portal within 4 weeks of exam day.
  • For candidates who were successful on a previous written exam and are awaiting practical second or third attempt results, the exam marks will be available in the navigation portal under the “Exam” tab within 2 weeks of the exam day.
